This year’s Harvest Festival on Sunday 8th October will see us doing things a little differently.
Instead of the usual sit-down meal we will enjoy a buffet lunch, aimed to help with social interaction and conversation. That’s because we plan to incorporate the lunch with ‘Food and Questions’ (FAQ’s), organised by the Faith Development team.
FAQ’s is mainly for people who aren’t regular church-goers, but who are curious and interested in increasing their knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith. The buffet lunch will provide a relaxed and informal setting, during which there will be volunteers wearing ‘Ask me‘ badges whom people can approach and ask questions about Christianity and the Bible.
There will also be a number of activities for children and young people, as the Sunday Club will be running (for children in Year3 and above), along with facilities for the care of younger children.
So please join us for the Harvest Festival. To help with catering we will be asking people to secure tickets ahead of the event. These will be available from members of the Church In Community team from the Parade Service on 17th September. The tickets will be free, but we do ask that you only take them if you are sure you will be coming. You will be able to make a financial contribution on the day of the event.
As usual, all Harvest gifts of food (non-perishable please) will be donated to Bromley & Orpington Foodbank. These items will be transported to Coolings Nursery on Monday morning.
