PASTORAL EVENT: DEMENTIA MATTERS
An introduction to supporting people affected by dementia
The Pastoral Care Team will be welcoming Nicola Fishman, Community Development Worker from Bromley Dementia Support Hub, who will run a dementia friends session, touching on the stigma and fear surrounding dementia but hopefully helping to allay people's worries.
It is a very positive session, which should leave participants feeling empowered with new information about what dementia is and isn't, how you can reduce your risk and how you can as an individual, organisation and community support those affected by dementia to live well.
She is also able to explain what local services and support are available for those who may be concerned about themselves, their neighbours, their family, and so on.
Saturday 1st December 2018
Tea and Coffee from 09.30
Session will run from 10.00-12.00
The morning is open to all; just about everyone in our church will know someone who has dementia or is caring for someone with dementia.
We would like to hear from you if you are able to attend.
