News of independent groups who regularly meet at St John's

The MC Quilters

Twenty Members  met on Saturday, 11th January to work in the Jamieson Hall to have a ‘sponsored quilting session’.  They were raising money for a young mum to do a Sign Language Course in order to enable her to work more effectively with elderly people with hearing difficulties.

Some of them were also making ‘lap quilts’ for a children’s charity.  Their work was highly imaginative and the quilts were very colourful and beautifully made.  It was quite a sight to see the Hall filled with twenty sewing machines – a veritable ‘sewing circle’.

This past Saturday they raised £640.00

Well done and highly commendable for you to give a whole Saturday.   There are two groups that meet regularly at St John’s, the Young Quilters and the MC Quilters.
